How to Acquire Wealth and Enjoy It!

Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.
Proverbs 13:11 (NKJV)
Our obsession with riches pulls and pushes us in different directions. Unfortunately, many prefer shortcuts. A young joins public services and illegally amasses riches within a short time. The government investigates, recovers the money and jails the offender.
A tech-savvy bank employee starts siphoning money from customers’ accounts. Soon, her lifestyle changes significantly. She drives high-class vehicles and lives in a posh neighborhood. When the law catches up with her, she loses everything, including her freedom.
He Who Gathers by Labor Will Increase
he Bible contains a wealth of knowledge and instructions on how to gain that we can enjoy possessing. For example, in Proverbs 13:11, we read, “Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.” (NKJV).
Gathering by labour means “gathering money little by little,” according to the New International Version (NIV). In essence, God wants us to grow our wealth. Getting rich is a process, not an event.
How to Get Wealthy and Enjoy It!
Through hard and honest work, we will earn ‘clean’ money, save and invest, thus increasing and multiplying our wealth. Of this kind of riches, Solomon comments, “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22).
As you venture out to earn a living today, remember God blesses the work of your hands. Do your honest part and let God open doors for you. Grow your wealth little by little. Avoid shortcuts. They are vanity and will only lead to sorrow.
Prayer
Almighty Father, teach me how to earn an honest living and to be patient as my wealth grows.
