I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
The farmer tills the land and plants the seed. He waits for God to bring the rain. When the plants germinate and weeds start appearing, the farmer gets rid of the unwanted plants. He also takes pertinent action against pests and diseases. Finally, the crop is ready for harvesting.
This process demonstrates the results of cooperation between divine and human agencies. If the farmer did not prepare the land, plant, and weed the crop, he would not harvest. However, if God did not bring the rain and favourable conditions, there would be no harvest.
I Can Do All Things Through Christ
The farmer could have prayed fervently and fasted for days instead of planting. He could spend days on the mountain while God’s rain pounded the earth. However, one day, while other farmers would be harvesting, the prayer warrior would be borrowing or starving.
The cooperation of divine and human agencies for the benefit of humanity is what Paul teaches when he writes, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). Human beings can accomplish extraordinary feats, but only through the power of God.
How to Achieve the Extraordinary
Jesus, using a farming analogy, states, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). As with the temporal, so with the spiritual. Our own works cannot save us. However, once we are born again, the fruit of the spirit manifests in our lives. We lead righteous lives.
When we play our roles effectively, whether in temporal or spiritual matters, we should expect God to combine His power with our human efforts. This blend can accomplish what, in human terms, we call impossible. How will you cooperate with God today to accomplish your spiritual and material goals and desires?
Prayer
Loving Jesus, thank You because there is nothing impossible when I hold your hand.
Amen..This comes to me timely, when I’m preparing for my Exams, and i am encouraged and motivated to sow my seeds, labor hard, give my best and God Jehovah will do the rest.
Human effort and divine power equals to success, we really need to work as though the success of everything depends on us and pray as though the success of everything depends on God alone.
Blessed!
