Uninterruptible Power Supply

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV)

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a gadget that comes in handy when incoming power goes off. The UPS allows you several minutes to continue working on your computer and to save your work as you wait for power supply to resume. In my moments of physical, mental and spiritual exhaustion, I wish I had an inbuilt UPS.

Inexhaustible Energy Supply

For example, on some days, I stay late in the office to complete urgent tasks and end up fatigued. On countless occasions, I carry work home and continue working late into the night. I only go to sleep when the body cannot absorb any more pressure and my eyelids are on overdrive.

This enervation of the body and mind is replicated in the spiritual realm. When I struggle with spiritual issuance and when Satan assails me with trials, I often end up dejected and discouraged. Like Prophet Elijah, I feel like running away and hiding from the public. In such moments, I wish I had limitless energy.

He Gives Power to the Weak

Now the Bible says we can tap into a permanent and more reliable power than any UPS can give. “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:28-29).

God is the source of physical, mental and spiritual power we all need. Indeed, He is the real Uninterruptible Power Supply. When we feel enervated in any way, we can turn to God and ask for strength and motivation to continue with the journey. Our Father gives us the strength to overcome adversity and temptation.

Uninterruptible Power Supply

Isaiah employs beautiful imagery to describe the believer who taps into the divine UPS: “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:30-31).

Almighty Father, in moments when I feel like giving up on the purpose, plans, projects and dreams You have ordained for me, remind me to tap into Your inexhaustible power.
