Are You Persuaded?

Daily Devotional – Friday, April 4, 2025
For this reason, I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)

Paul declared his trust in God while he was in a jail cell, waiting to be executed. In spite of persecution and adversity, the apostle trusted, not in himself, but in God. He was persuaded that his life and future were safe in God’s hand.

I am not Ashamed

Paul had met the resurrected Christ, felt His strength, and witnessed His faithfulness. His faith was based on the nature of God rather than on ephemeral earthly stability.

He was not only a follower of Christ, but he was also sure that God could keep the things that Paul had given to Him. The apostle to the Gentiles was aware that what was safe in God’s care could not be taken away by imprisonment, persecution, or even death itself.

Are You Persuaded?

We, too, experience hardships, doubts, and even pain in this life, but like Paul, we may believe in God’s ability to keep us safe. When we give Him our lives—our hopes, our hardships—He will provide for and protect us.

Are you persuaded that God is able to keep you through every storm until that wonderful day when we see Him face to face? Have you committed your future, your anxieties, and your loved ones to the Lord? Rest assured that He will keep what you have committed to Him.

Prayer
Dear God. I am not ashamed for believing in You, and I am persuaded that You are able to keep what I have committed to You until that Day.
